Clinical Areas of application

Diabetic Retinopathy

All individuals with diabetes, irrespective of the type of diabetes, require regular and repetitive annual retinal screening for early detection and timely treatment of diabetic retinopathy. AI can power this.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma diagnosis is complicated and dependent on the clinician’s expertise. AI tools can instead be used for the classification, segmentation and enhancement of ocular images for earlier detection.

Age-related Macular Degeneration

AMD is the leading cause of sight loss that results in blurred or occluded vision in the center of the visual field. Our deep learning techniques can distinguish normal OCT images from images from patients with AMD.


Clinical Validation

We performed clinical trials with one of our major ophthalmology clients for screening and enhancing retinal images using our AI products - ScreenRad and BoostRad - for gradability and morbidity.

A study released in The Lancet Global Health estimates that global blindness will triple by year 2050 and that cases of blindness will increase 3X to 115 million. Other types of eye problems are expected to impact another 200 million.
